History

STREETLY TAKES ITS NAME FROM THE RYKNIELD STREET, A ROMAN ROAD, THE LINE OF WHICH CAN STILL BE FOLLOWED IN SUTTON PARK.

There is archaeological evidence of Stone Age people in the area. In medieval times the district was largely forest and was owned by the Earl of Warwick who lived in a Manor House in Sutton Coldfield.
